SG. 735 var, U17 var, Pierron F326TBa. A fine UNMOUNTED MINT block of twelve (6x2) of the 5d Royal Blue, and Tete-Beche between stamps 3 & 4/9 & 10. Not listed in the SG GB Concise, but is footnoted in SG Spec. Volume 3, and fully listed in Pierron, which notes the error / variety as originating from stolen uncut tête-bêche primary sheets meant for booklet production and unwittingly purchased by a sub-postmaster who believed them to be legitimate and sold them over the post office counter. A striking piece which effectively shows two booklet panes of six before guillotining and appearing upside down to each other. Spectacular. (JMD RS18st)
