Description

GB very fine 1855 envelope from London, to Tunbridge Wells. Has a fine Die II, Alpha II, Small Crown Perf 16 SG C4 (SG24), PLATE 10 GH in a Brick Red shade on the front canceled with the London Inland numeral '1 in diamond'.

Back has a Part TUNBRIDGE WELLS OC 9/ 1855 receiving hand stamp in blue, as well as a faint London OC 9, 1855 Dispatch in red. There is also a faint Sloane-ST-S.O receiving house cancel in blue on the back (L514/SLOSO13b).

A scarce usage on cover with interesting cancels. Cat value of the stamp alone is £100. On cover at least £150.
